COURSE DESCRIPTION:  NEURAC 1 is an entry-level course that presents clinical applications of suspension exercise for patient populations. The NEURAC method is revolutionary in its approach to patient examination and treatment. By utilizing the Redcord suspension system, the medical practitioner learns how to better identify and address neuromuscular deficits that may be contributing to the root cause of many movement disorders and pain conditions.

NEURAC aims to re-activate the patient's neuromuscular system. By introducing specially-tailored exercises that demand high neuromuscular effort, but without the need for high mechanical load, the practitioner attempts to restore functional muscle stability and normal, pain-free movement patterns. There are bungee cords to assist the user throughout each exercise. This unique "bungee assistance" feature helps to facilitate specific movement strategies while avoiding the interference of pain and compensation.

  • Proprioceptively-enriched environment
  • Bungee cords to assist
  • Closed-kinetic chain exercises
  • Body weight bearing positions
  • Pain-free treatment approach
  • Functionally-enhancing movement patterns

In the NEURAC 1 course, you will learn a standardized testing protocol to assess movement patterns and neuromuscular control. There is also a standardized grading system corresponding to the testing protocol. As you shift into treatment, you will learn how to apply suspension based exercises and neuromuscular re-education techniques utilizing the Redcord Professional Workstation. You will also learn how to apply Redcord's patented "bungee assistance" system to precisely grade the levels of resistance and neuromuscular challenge applied during each exercise.

Upon completion of this entry-level course, you will have a good understanding of the theoretical basis underlying the NEURAC method, as well as the extensive scientific research and practical evidence supporting its benefits and role in rehabilitation and treatment. You will also demonstrate safe use of the equipment, and have a basic understanding of how to examine and treat patients on the Redcord.

Every Redcord course is substantiated by more than 20 years of scientific research and practical experience by medical and fitness professionals that use Redcord to facilitate rehabilitation, prevent injuries and enhance performance.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Enhance 8 traditional PT exercises and 8 manual therapy techniques by applying the “Helping Hand” Principle with the Redcord Suspension System.
  • Compare the differences between open kinetic chain (OKC) and closed kinetic chain (CKC) exercises.
  • List the 6 Neurac Progressions, or grading principles, to adjust the level of resistance and neuromuscular challenge applied during each sling suspension exercise.
  • Integrate the Neurac Progressions into each learned exercise in order to appropriately grade the exercise for each person.
  • Explain 4 ways Redcord may be utilized in the clinical setting.
  • Compare the physiological differences between local muscles versus global muscles and how they influence neuromuscular control.
  • Differentiate the two types of Neurac assessment testing: Motor Control and Myofascial Chains.
  • Apply standardized protocols for Motor Control and Myofascial Chain Tests.
  • Develop an effective treatment plan based on the results of localized Motor Control Testing from a patient.
  • Formulate an effective treatment plan given the results of Myofascial Chain Testing from a patient.
  • Name the 4 main elements of Neurac treatment.
  • Connect the 3 main ingredients required to enhance neuromuscular control that are used during Neurac treatments and exercises.
  • Demonstrate proper use of the main components of the Redcord professional workstation to conduct testing and treatment procedures.
