COURSE ATTENDEES: This course is intended for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Chiropractors, Athletic Trainers and Medical Doctors. PT Assistants may also take this course to learn how to assist the PT in delivery of the Neurac method.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Neurac 1 is an entry-level course that presents clinical applications of suspension exercise utilizing Redcord equipment. The Neurac method is revolutionary in its approach to patient examination and treatment. Through specially-tailored exercises and techniques administered in ropes and slings, Neurac aims to restore functional muscle stability and neuromuscular control for the successful management of musculoskeletal disorders, neurological impairments, and acute and chronic pain.
Neurac demands high neuromuscular effort, without the need for high mechanical load, in order to optimally enhance muscle activation and function. Utilizing Redcord's patented "bungee assistance" system, the practitioner has a unique ability to off-load the patient's body weight during an exercise. This innovative off-loading feature allows the practitioner to facilitate correct movement patterns while avoiding the interferences of pain and compensation.
- Closed-kinetic chain exercises (body weight-bearing)
- Proprioceptively-enriched environment
- Pain-free positions and motions
- Functionally-enhancing movement patterns
In the Neurac 1 course, you will discuss published scientific articles and practical evidence supporting the concepts of Neurac for rehabilitation and treatment. You will be introduced to a standardized testing protocol (and grading system) utilizing the Redcord to assess movement patterns, stability and neuromuscular control. As you shift into treatment, you will learn how to administer therapeutic exercises and neuromuscular re-education techniques that address areas of weakness and imbalance that are identified during the assessment process. You will also learn how to apply Redcord's patented "bungee assistance" system to precisely grade the levels of resistance, instability and neuromuscular challenge applied during an exercise.
Upon completion of this entry level course, you will have a good understanding of the theoretical basis underlying the Neurac method, as well as the scientific research and practical evidence supporting its benefits and role in rehabilitation and treatment. You will also demonstrate safe use of the equipment, and have a basic understanding of how to examine and treat patients on the Redcord.
Every Redcord course is substantiated by more than 20 years of scientific research and practical experience documenting the effects of suspension-based exercises on the well-being of individuals, and on the recovery from injuries and health conditions. All exercises and applications are currently used by medical and fitness professionals to facilitate rehabilitation, prevent injuries and enhance performance.
COURSE INSTRUCTORS: All Redcord Neurac courses are taught by certified Physical Therapists with several years of Neurac experience and training.
COURSE TUITION: Tuition includes course registration, course manual, instructor fees and certificate of completion.
